Sun and Jupiter by GalacticGraceArtwork Sun and Jupiter by GalacticGraceArtwork
As far as my art goes I've really put a lot of my focus on this painting. She was a lot of hard work and I learned so much making this. I tried a lot of new things and overall I'm super proud of how this turned out.

Wow, what a gorgeous work. It looks so 3-dimensional.
I love the shining hairs. It looks so dynamic and powerful. Her face expression is also super depicted.
This looks so awesome how she hold the planet in her hand.
All the stars, colors.... looks simply brilliant. You did a great work on it. :iconblakelord:

Cool painting! I'm curious about the composition: were you going to put text or something in the center? If I had a van, I'd totally hire you to airbrush this on the side of it.

Thanks!

Ooh what a cool idea about the airbrushing on  a van haha, never thought about that.
I hate text with artwork to be honest most of the time so that really wasn't the thought process here, haha. I wanted to have it somewhat to scale I know it's not accurate but I like that the focus isn't on tiny earth and I like that she is kinda small in space. I also incorporated the Fibonacci Spiral into the composition because I just think it's so call and the orbit of planets seemed like a perfect excuse to play with it. :D

Oh, I see what you mean about the Fibonacci spiral now! Makes me want to get more ambitious with my own composition!

You should, it's super fun to challenge yourself. I'm very tactile so I watch a lot of tutorials online just for fun, but I only absorb like 50% of the info that way. I need to actually make a painting with the info I learned for it to stick! I'm learning all kinds of cool stuff about composition right now. In case you're not familiar I recommend looking up "Compositional Shapes" it was a real light-bulb moment for me :D

This turned out really well. I like what you ended up doing with the planets and their orientation throughout the piece. I really like the color scheme you went with, great use of warm and cool colors.

I feel like you could have pushed how much you used the orange and the blue highlights. More orange highlights throughout the face and more saturation with the blue. Her eyebrows are barely noticeable compared to her hair. You should increase the saturation of the orange in her eyebrows. Not quite as much as her hair but just a little more noticeable.

I made some updates. I think I like it a lot better now. I experimented with pushing the highlights, but it was a little too dramatic so I scaled it back a bit. I'm pretty satisfied with the changes now even though they're kinda subtle. :D
